SUB COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS

THREE (3) POSTS – JOB GROUP ‘Q’

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. The Sub County Administrator shall be responsible to the respective Sub County Administration Coordinator for the following:
  2. Coordinating the management and supervision of general administrative functions
  3. Developing policies and plans
  4. Ensuring effective service delivery
  5. Coordinating developmental activities to empower the community
  6. Providing and maintaining infrastructure and facilities of public services
  7. Facilitating and coordinating citizen participation in the development of policies and plans and delivery of service
  8. Promotion and coordination of peace building and conflict resolution in the sub county
  9. Coordination of disaster management and emergency response activities in the sub county in collaboration with other Government agencies.
  10. Exercising any functions and powers delegated by the Sub County Administration Coordinator

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

  • Should be a Kenyan citizen
  • Be a holder of at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or Business Administration/Management or comparable qualification form a recognized institution in Kenya
  • Working experience of not less than five (5) years in a middle level management / administration in public service or private sector

          OR

  • A diploma in Social Sciences or Business Administration/ Management form a recognized institution in Kenya
  • Working experience of not less than ten (10) years in management/ administration with public or private sector
  • Must demonstrate understanding and commitment to the values and principles as outlined in Article 10 and Article 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
  • Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the national goals, policies and development objectives of Vision 2030
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with strong organizational skills
  • Project management skills.
  • Must satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010

SUB COUNTY YOUTH OFFICER

JOB GROUP M

  1. Mainstreaming of youth issues in the County Government Policies and Programmes
  2. Provide linkage between the Community and the Department of Youth and Gender on the Planning, Coordination, Implementation, and Monitoring of Youth and Gender Programmes in the County.
  3. Identification and promotion of Youth talent including entrepreneurship
  4. Provide Technical and Professional assistance to the Department.
  5. Assist in direct supervising of Youth Programmes in the Sub-County.
  6. Coordinate the collection and analysis of statistical data and submission of statutory reports relating to the mandate of the Department.
  7. Coordinate the implementation of the 30% preferential procurement for Youth, Women and Persons with Disabilities in the County.
  8. Proactively identify, nurture and develop talent;
  9. Co-ordination of all youth affairs within the subcounties;
  10. Identify, support and build vibrant network of youth leaders in the Wards;
  11. Youth empowerment;
  12. Manage and co-ordinate variety of youth events;
  13. Implement national youth initiatives /policies;
  14. Liaise effectively with other agencies providing services to young people and represent the department in relevant meetings.
  15. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

  1. Be a Kenyan Citizen.
  2. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in, community development or social work or Social Sciences / any equivalent qualification from a recognized university
  3. Must have served for at least two (3) years, in a relevant position in either the Public or Private Sector.
  4.  Proficiency in computer applications. hardworking, innovative, have good negotiation skills, proactive, self-motivated and aggressive;
  5. Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
  6. Be a team player with excellent communication skills.
  7. Be an individual with high integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality.
  8. Demonstrate excellent organizational skills
  9. Satisfy the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution

TRAINING OPPORTUNITY

REGISTRAR POSITION, GENERAL SURGERY COSECSA RESIDENCY TRAINING (5 POSTS)

Applications are invited for suitably qualified candidates for the above mentioned course.

It is a five year training programme divided into 2 years for membership (MCS) and 3 years for fellowship (FCS).

Requirements:-

  • Must be a holder of MBChB or equivalent from recognized university.
  • Must be registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board
  • Must have worked in a busy hospital at least 1 year after internship.
  • Must have 2 (two) referees.
  • Sponsorship will be by the sending organization (i.e. hospital, church, community or privately)
